LaGreta Brown

As a product of West Philadelphia, LaGreta B. Brown has the skills to address the needs of students, their families, and all stakeholders in urban education. She has had the privilege of graduating from the Philadelphia High School for Girls in the Philadelphia School District. She has had remarkable educational experiences that shaped her initial viewpoint about  curriculum development and its implementation; teaching; and, learning as she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in English and Secondary Education as a graduate of West Chester State College. In addition, she earned a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration and Leadership from Temple University, which facilitated her thoughts about leadership, management, partnerships, and the ultimate responsibility to educate all students. She began her teaching and administrative career in Camden City, New Jersey. Her administrative career as a middle school and high school Principal spans from Camden County to Monmouth County and Atlantic County.  She is capable of administering all aspects of the total  school and district program including educational leadership, curriculum and instructional programs, curriculum development, staff selection, supervision, observation, and evaluation. She has demonstrated leadership in the area of budgeting and reporting in a manner consistent with federal, state, and local regulations.Her philosophy is that all children can learn and their education is priceless! She believes that all scholars are gifted, talented and have the ability to learn in a safe, orderly, and productive learning environment.  It is imperative that children are provided with instruction that is authentic, learner-centered, interactive, inclusive, and connected to their real world experiences – anticipated and unanticipated. LaGeta B. Brown is an an exceptional critical thinker and problem solver, who has the ability to identify challenges and actively work to find solutions.  She utilizes excellent data analysis skills and synthesize data to drive action steps. Additionally, she has experience managing and developing staff.  She has demonstrated outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail. In addition, she has the ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment, and she demonstrates outstanding written and oral communication and facilitation skills. She embraces collaboration with stakeholders. Moreover, LaGreta B. Brown has a passionate belief in the mission of the school district and its commitment to improving the effectiveness of its workforce in order to address the needs of the whole child and to increase student achievement. Her  wealth of experiences enables her to meet the challenges and responsibilities facing educational reform. LaGreta Brown spends her time in service at St. Matthew AME Church in West Philadelphia. She is a active member of the Board of Stewards and Board of Christian Education. She serves as President of the Intercessory Prayer Ministry, Scholarship Committee Ministry, and Evangelism Ministry. She is Second Vice President of the Lay Organization. She teaches the New Members' Classes: Stewardship and Discovering Your Ministry. She works in the Finance Room each week.In addition, she is the Past President of the Singles' Ministry. In continual service to all mankind, LaGreta B. Brown is an active member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. She is a member of the Membership Committee. She is Chairman of Emerging Young Leaders Initiative and Past Chairman of the Scholarship Committee.

LaGreta Brown interests include reading, writing, eating at fine restaurants, marathon running, creating programming for all, traveling, and serving all mankind.
